Generally, infant mattresses in stores are composed of a foam core with vinyl covering. Studies have shown that mice on this kind of mattress have a reduction of 26% of their airflow. This could be a major factor in SIDS. Many studies have confirmed the link between SIDS and chemicals but the JPMA(crib industry) is very large and keeps promoting cheap synthetic mattresses.

Our new style mattress replaces that 1" mattress that probably came with your baby's cradle, sleeper, etc. That unhealthy inner synthetic foam is replaced with natural rubber inner and the outer with organic wool fabric for natural flame-retardance, water-resistance, bacterial resistance and dust mite control on one side and organic cotton on the other side. This is designed to use the wool side only. When using the wool side you need a cotton pad on top of the mattress, followed by your fitted sheet.

If using the cotton outer side, you need a wool pad, followed by a cotton pad, followed by your fitted sheet.

Meets all CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) guideline.

Simple style with 1" natural rubber completely protected by certified organic felted wool on one side and organic cotton on the other. The wool and rubber are both naturally resistant to dust mites, flame, and bacteria making this a safe choice.

If the organic cotton side is used, a wool moisture pad and cotton pad is needed to protect the mattress.

No need for seperate wool puddle pad, it's already there when using the wool side, but YOU DO STILL NEED A COTTON PAD ON TOP OF THE WOOL....(under the fitted sheet)!! Remember, it takes a chemical to waterPROOF something, which is why our wool is NOT waterPROOF but rather very moisture resistant.

This is why you must use a cotton pad on top of the wool.

No chemicals, plastics, polyfibers....no Junk in our wool! Easy Clean the wool side with gentle soap and water if soiled with anything other than urine.

Otherwise just air dry and bacteria on wool will die within an hour.
